When reserving for these events, give your first & last names plus home phone number.
Your home phone number is important - even if you reserve by email.
The host may need to call you about a last-minute change.


There is a $5 levy per person per event to be paid on arrival.

CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT
Yonge & St. Clair
Maureen C. invites you to join her to enjoy listening to Christmas carols and songs at this very popular annual concert. The church is located north of St. Clair subway - about a seven-minute walk on the east side of Yonge. Please meet Maureen inside the entrance about 1:30 to collect the $5 UKC levy and find seating in the church. Please note there is a freewill donation request or bring one of two items of canned goods for the food bank. After the concert we can walk back down to the large Tim Horton's to enjoy hot chocolate and a treat. The event is limited to nine members. You might want to bring a face mask in case it is suggested by the church and for your own well-being. Join Susan at Smokeshow BBQ and Brew, 744 Mt. Pleasant Rd., in the first block south of Eglinton on the west side. Street parking is available. Come and listen, sing along and/or dance to Danny Marks, singer and musician (founding member of the group Edward Bear). Smokeshow has a varied menu with interesting new specials. DINNER/MINGLING AT THE GRANITE BREWERY
Mt. Pleasant & Eglinton E.
Come and join Maureen at The Granite Brewery, on Mt. Pleasant Road, for mingling, drinks and dinner. Good selection of craft beers and pub type food in this long-established neighbourhood restaurant, situated in mid-town Toronto. There is free underground parking at The Granite, with a token from the server (see video). From Eglinton subway station take any bus going east and get off at Mt. Pleasant, then cross the road. The Granite is on the east side of Mt. Pleasant. Alternatively, take the 74 bus from St. Clair subway station and get off at Soudan Avenue and then walk less than a block north. After enjoying a number of successful UKC "leisurely lunches" over the last couple of months, once again Mary invites you to join her at The Rose and Crown at 2335 Yonge St., a short block and a half north of Eglinton station. It is a British/Irish family-owned pub and run by Lisa and Johnny, the second-generation husband and wife owners. It has been at Y/E for the past 40 years and has an authentic pub atmosphere. Usually it's a quite time of day and we can sit in the spacious lounge at the front of the pub. (There is also a pool table if you fancy – 2 x 2 toonies a game!) The event is limited to 12 members, so do book early! They serve regular pub food which is reasonably priced, along with a wide variety of beers and wines. The $5 UKC levy will apply. Join Peter for an afternoon of Dixieland Jazz, 3:30 to 7 pm, by the Happy Pals along with beer or wine refreshments and a chance to get up and dance along to the music if you wish. UKC limit of 10 people. Coming early is advised as it gets pretty busy once the music starts. Our group will probably leave around 6:30 to go to the Red Room restaurant, across the road at 444 Spadina, for an inexpensive Chinese dinner (optional). Tony invites you to enjoy an excellent Indian dinner at a reasonable cost at the Regency Restaurant, 1423 Gerrard St. E, west of Coxwell Ave in Little India. This spotless restaurant features a wide variety of Indian dishes at reasonable prices. It was famous for its all-you-can-eat buffet, but replaced it during the pandemic by new Combo Plates, with two meat dishes and one vegetable dish, plus rice and naan and either salad or dessert, for $12.99 (or two vegetable dishes and one meat dish for $11.99).
