A UKC membership policy change
Why? It is for the protection of our members. It is an unfortunate fact that at many singles’ functions that are open to the public, there are married men and women “on safari”. We seek to protect our members from such predators. We believe that our requirement that you give your HOME telephone number and address, helps reduce the chance of our having non bona-fide ‘single’ members.
To reassure single persons who are genuinely apprehensive about revealing their personal information,
our Privacy Policy is reproduced below.
our personal information is held in the strictest confidence and we do not share, rent or sell information about our members to anyone. Except for the purpose of communicating with you about UK Connexion activities, no one will ever receive any personal information about you, without your permission, including your email address, so you can rest assured that your privacy will never be compromised.
Our volunteer hosts are human. They understandably get upset when people register for their events and then never show up. PLEASE have the courtesy to phone after booking if for some unavoidable reason you are unable to attend.
Perhaps those who are so cavalier and insensitive to the hosts’ feelings should try organizing an event themselves! Our hosts work hard, gratis, for the benefit of all. And, it is great that they offer so willingly. Please don’t “rock the boat”.
EVENT RESERVATION
When you are reserving for an event or receiving the reservations, please exchange phone numbers. This will enable you to be notified or to notify your guests if there is a change or cancellation. Hosts are advised to remind registrants to phone them if they are unable to attend. Incidentally, if you reserve for an event where the host buys food for you and you do not attend nor call to cancel you may be billed for the cost of the food.
CHANGED YOUR ADDRESS or PHONE NUMBER ?
Please let our Membership Director John, jpettitt@idirect.com , have any new information so that we can continue to keep you informed and on the mailing list. It is a requirement of membership that we have your home phone number and address.
ATTEND TWO UKC EVENTS ON THE SAME DAY FOR ONE $5 LEVY.
Your Executive has decided that on days when there are two UKC events, you may attend the second one free of charge – provided you attended the first one and obtained a coupon signed and dated by the first host. The special coupons will be mailed to the first host of the day when he/she is sent a supply of UK QUARTERLIES for the event.
In our winter programme there are four days when we have two events on one day: Jan. 20 & 27; Feb. 23; and Mar. 30.
